Longview are one of the most highly awarded wineries in Adelaide Hills, having claimed trophies and medals at conspicuous national tasteoffs. The predominantly northeast facing slopes and valleys, combined with the cool climate of the Adelaide Hills and superior winemaking practices, have produced outstanding vintages. Longview»
The term Terra rossa means red earth, a rich, free draining soil that is considered by many as the viticultural equivalent of discovering gold. Beneath the strata of red earth at Wrattonbully sits a layer of ancient limestone, a winegrower's dream as it allows free drainage of water, yet ensures vine roots stay close to the surface, putting natural stress on the vine and limiting its vigor and yield. Smith Hooper»
John Glaetzer is the winemaker behind Australia's most legendary sequence of Jimmy Watson Trophy winning vintages. Langhorne Creek is a place of spectacular editions Cabernet Sauvignon, powerfully structured, beautifully aromatic wines of edifying regional eloquence, gorgeous dark fruit flavours and lusciously gummy tannins. Gipsie Jack»
Take a lesson from the well versed Rosé rectors on the Cotes du Rhône and you'll be adding a measure of the arcadian Cinsault grape into your Grenache ferments, conceiving an animate and engaging ochre pink wine. There's a real affinity between the balmy maritime climes of McLaren Vale and the swarthy, effusive varietals that hail from the French south. Bondar»
Lenton Brae can justifiably claim to be one of Margaret River's leading proponents of the ebullient fusion between Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, having claimed multi trophies and gold medals for the style at regional, state and national competitions. The site was chosen after a chance conversation with the owner of Moss Wood who mentioned that the soils were uniformly excellent and equal to those of the eminent vineyard nearby. Lenton Brae»
Twice Gold Medal Challenge International du Vin! Moscatel and Gewürtztraminer grapes, grown to estate vineyards on the mountains of the Upper Penedes, form the backbone of fruit for Viña Esmeralda, a delicate but strunningly fragrant wine. The dry fig and raisin characters of Moscatel de Alejandría give Esmerelda it's luscious and flavourful palate, fleshed out by the orange of Frontignac or Moscatel de Grano Menudo as the Spanish say, further enhanced by the complex aromaticness and spice of the vivacious Traminer.. Torres»
The Lovedale district of Hunter Valley is synonymous with world class Semillon. Resolved to make a transition from mining to wining, the De Iuliis family acquired a grazing property along Lovedale Road and established vines in the early 1990s. De Iuliis»
After several decades of crafting Australia's most memorable vintages, Mike Press is more sanguine than ever that great wine can only come from the finest vineyards. His dedicated hands on approach means that he is personally involved in every stage of the winemaking, from pruning the vines and inspecting grapes, right to plunging the ferments and bottling his finished wine. Mike Press»
A vigorous diction of new world Chardonnay, framed within a tasteful veneer of judicious oak, crafted by an artisanal winery that's claimed best white and best red wine trophies, as judged amongst peers at the Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Association. Willow Creek offers a stylishly proportioned palate, finishing as crisp as the maritime winds which enthuse the Peninsula. Willow Creek»
Only the best vintages are selected for the Premium Rare Old Muscat, all releases win significant awards at major international competitions. In blending, a range of vintages are used, the older wines giving intensely concentrated luscious flavours and aged complexity and the younger wines imparting the fresh fruit character. Morris»
This enduring flagship wine can boast twenty trophys and over seventy gold medals throughout its illustrious history. Penley Steyning captures and enhances the excellence in first growth Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, highlighted by rich berry tones, superior length and layers of intense flavour, a wine which achieves perfect harmony between massive intensity of fruit, mouth filling grape tannins and elegant acids. Watershed

http://www.watershedwines.com.au/ - Watershed - Tasting Notes On Australian & New Zealand wines
Watershed is a dividing rise of land between two bodies of water. Watershed means to go to a new and higher level of understanding, an awakening

The Watershed label was designed by Roland Butcher and incorporates a purple room with a four paned window on the wall. Green vines can be seen looking out of the window, however, the main focus is a ray of light streaming through the glass and diffusing across the floor, symbolizing a human being’s stream of consciousness - a creative but almost uncontrollable thought process, spurred on by small inspirations, all leading to a final revelation, or awakening.

Watershed Premium Wines is one of the few major producers in Margaret River to have the capacity to satisfy the international wine market demand, responsible for the single largest initial vineyard planting in the region. With 117 hectares under vine, in the vintage 2006 Watershed crushed around 950 tonnes with a future expectation of 2400 tonnes, around eight times as much as the region’s largest boutique vineyards. 60% of vines are currently made up of red varietals, 40% being white varietals. There are currently 1,200 vine rows on the Stage 1 property – measuring 270km, the distance between Margaret River and Perth!

The Watershed vineyard is situated 4.8 km south of Margaret River at the intersection of Darch Road and Bussell Highway, Margaret River. The Bussell Highway is the major arterial road for traffic travelling to and from the Margaret River township. The Watershed vineyard has extensive Bussell Highway frontage, which contributes significantly to the profile and cellar door sales of the Margaret River Watershed Premium Wine Project. Watershed's Stage 1 vineyard comprises a total area of 127.2901 hectares, of which 79.9 hectares has been established as a vineyard. The 130,209 vines were hand planted in August/September 2001.

The Watershed vineyard is in the dress circle of Margaret River being on the Bussell Highway at the turn-off to Leeuwin and Voyager Estates, the two most visited wineries in Margaret River. In March 2004 Watershed purchased it's Stage 2 vineyard over the road from it's exisiting site. In September 2004 33.3 hectares were planted giving Watershed a total of 117.45 hectares under vine. The stage 1 dam was constructed in April 2000 at an initial cost of approximately $240,000. The dam was subsequently expanded to a water storage capacity of 201 megalitres during the first quarter of 2001 at an additional cost of approximately $110,000. Despite Margaret River receiving well below average rainfall last winter the dam overflowed again in August 2006.

Watershed's 2004 Shiraz and 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot both collected Gold Medals at Mundis Vini in Germany, the world’s largest international wine show. The 2004 Shiraz had already won gold medals at the 2007 Sydney International Wine Competition and the 2007 Royal Sydney Wine Show in addition to silver medals at the 2007 Decanter World Wine Awards and the 2006 WA Qantas Wine Show. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot had already collected a silver at the 2006 Mundus Vini Wine Show.

As well as Margaret River’s traditional varieties of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, some alternative varietals have been planted, such as Zinfandel, Sangiovese and Viognier. The first vintage grapes were sourced from several growers in the Margaret River region, off vines between 7 to 20 years in age. The first release wines in 2002 were produced by then wine making consultant, John Wade, at a contract winery in Margaret River. The second vintage in 2003 sourced grapes from contract growers and, for the first time, fruit from the Watershed vineyard was processed at the Watershed winery by the Winemaker.

In December 2004 the first of the reserve style range was released with the 2004 Awakening Sauvignon Blanc, followed shortly by the 2004 Awakening Chardonnay and the 2003 Awakening Cabernet Sauvignon. Now onto their second vintages, these flagship wines have recieved a host of accolades and awards. In February 2005 the 2004 Viognier was released, becoming the first wine to be produced from 100% Watershed fruit. Now onto its second vintage, it has also been accompanied by the 2004 Zinfandel (since sold out) as fully estate grown wines.

Watershed's 2006 Unoaked Chardonnay collected a Gold Medal at the 2007 Perth Royal Wine Show. This followed prior success when it collected a Gold Medal at the Royal Queensland Wine Show and the 2006 Margaret River Wine Show when it received the highest score in the 2006 Chardonnay class. Another great example of the outstanding quality of Watershed's premium wines at super affordable pricing.
