The inaugural release was 1987, and what a vintage it was, immediately claiming gold and winning comparisons to Grange Hermitage by the wine press. And so the legend was born. Hanging Rock»
Skillogalee is Celtic for a sort of gruel commonly fed to prisoners. When John Horrocks finally made it back to Penwortham after his trek through the Flinders ranges on Afghan camels, he gave the creek nearby the name Skillogalee in memory of the scant provisions which sustained the expedition. Skillogalee»
Campbell’s Liquid Gold is intense, rich and luscious with hints of candied peel and cold tea. This wine is made using the solera system – a wood-ageing method of fractional blending; the concentration of flavours is partly due to the evaporation, an important element in the process. Campbells»

GOLD MEDAL Winner International Wine Challenge "Sherry isn’t so old-fashioned, Lustau San Emilio Pedro Ximenez made from sun-dried Pedro Ximenez grapes, it’s so thick that is oozes into the glass like treacle and smells of molasses and Christmas cake. Pour it chilled over vanilla ice-cream!" -Sally Gudgeon. Lustau»

The Charles Sturt University Winery is an integral part of Australia's leading wine and food science school, at the forefront of viticultural practices and wine making techniques. The winery focuses on excellence, using state of the art technology without sacrificing tradition. An immensely satisfying Chardonnay, representing superior value, from grapes grown to the University vineyard, with ample complexity and a long clean acid finish. "Lustrous to behold, voluptuous mouthfeel and fruit, tingly palate, memorable finish!" -Wine Mag.com.au

Charles Sturt University Winery represents the same environment as other commercial Australian wineries. CSU provides stimulating training for those students fortunate enough to be employed through winery scholarship. Being a fully market driven operation, it produces the quality and style of wines that obtain ready acceptance from discerning wine consumers in the open market place. Wines from the University Winery since 1977 have been awarded multi trophies, and hundreds of gold and silver medals in national wine shows. Most of the Chardonnay is fermented under strict temperature controls to retain the fresh fruit flavours. A further component has been fermented in new French oak for added complexity

Bottle $10.00 $120.00

Handsome straw yellow in colour. Aromas of peach and nashi, assorted stonefruits and crunchy pear, wisps of vanilla and cashew, there are also greener elements like fuji apple and asparagus. The palate is lively and multi dimensional, offering not only very fine fruit, but super texture and mouthfeel from lees stiring. The flavours are all full and soft, with the melon and stone fruit characters dominating. The fresh fruit-driven nature of the wine co-exists ying and yang-like with the sweet and savoury elements of the oak. Nuances of cocoa and butter and chewy vanilla gum sit aside the orchardy complexity and quenching tropicalness. This is a fresh, fruit dominant wine with the right amount of woody hints, and a crisp acid finish
