Glenrowan is a place of great natural endowments, it grows the finest fruit and hosted a famous gold rush. Glenrowan has remained quarantined from any exchange of viticulture since the 1890s, a felicitious quirk of history which has preserved the provenance of some great old vineyards. Baileys Glenrowan»
The term Terra rossa means red earth, a rich, free draining soil that is considered by many as the viticultural equivalent of discovering gold. Beneath the strata of red earth at Wrattonbully sits a layer of ancient limestone, a winegrower's dream as it allows free drainage of water, yet ensures vine roots stay close to the surface, putting natural stress on the vine and limiting its vigor and yield. Smith Hooper»
Haan have claimed a breathtaking tally of world class accolades for such a small, boutique Barossa estate. Conspicuous trophies and medals at the prestigious London International, Australian Wine Producer of Year and Trophy for Best Blended Red. Haan»
Tyrrell made a major contribution to the development of Heathcote as a world class winegrowing region. One of the earliest pioneers, they sowed the seeds and established the vines which launched the second gold rush into Heathcote Shiraz. Tyrrells»

Daniel James Wilson would write DJW rules on school book covers, desks, garden edgings and wet concrete whenever the opportunity arose. In 1997 DJW established a small 5½ acre plot of Riesling in the highest and most fertile corner of the family property. Wilson Vineyard»
Have you ever imagined yourself sipping on a luscious effervescent red wine? Vixen makes makes it very real. Your friends will be jealous, past party escorts will seem dull by comparison and all eyes will be on you as you stride into your next party with Vixen on your arm. Fox Creek»
Peter Lehmann has always been Riesling's most outspoken advocate, he has claimed best Riesling trophy at the prestigious London International on more occasions than any other, he declares Riesling to be his wine of choice if marooned on the proverbial desert island. Early picking of fruit from a superior single vineyard in the salubrious climes of Eden Valley has produced a fresh, lively Riesling, expect this captivating wine to exhibit genuine charm and offer great longevity as it narrowly missed being bottled behind Lehmann's flagship Riesling label.. Peter Lehmann»
Frank Potts established the Bleasdale vineyards in 1850, his eponymously labelled wine commemorates a legacy of innovation and resourcefulness. Outstanding Langtons Classification. The locals around the Lovedale property say that the sandy soils are so poor, that even the rabbits have to bring a tucker box just to survive! The lean and mean terroir is elemental to the long lived, fine boned style. Mount Pleasant»
Enthused by a consuming desire to make great wine, Andrew Nugent honed his craft as viticulturalist and winemaker amongst the vines of McLaren Vale before returning to the Adelaide Hills, where he established his very own wineworks at Woodside. Hand crafted from fruit grown to mineral rich soils above the historic Bird in Hand gold mine, a pure Pinot Noir with superb effervescence, dominated by red berry characters, adorned by a lift of stonefruits and floral.. Bird In Hand»

https://warramundaestate.com.au/ - Warramunda - Tasting Notes On Australian & New Zealand wines
Warramunda Estate are unwavering in their commitment to produce wines which reflect true love for the land and passion for excellence

Warramunda means tomorrow, the long term vision of managing a sustainable, productive vineyard. Warramunda produce bespoke wines, which truly reflect the natural expression of Yarra Valley's Coldstream region. Ted Vogt purchased the original Warramunda property in 1975 and operated a cattle sheep stud. In 1980 the property was extended by an extra 320 acres. Yeringberg Creek ran through the land, a large dam was built in 1981 which now supports three vineyards and a grazing property. Ted’s son was a scientist with a passion for soil, he had the vision to redevelop Warramunda and establish a first class vineyard in 1998. The early harvests of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, Marsanne, Viognier and Shiraz, were sold to local wineries including the illustrious Yering Station.

Warramunda Estate repackaged its first vintage behind its own label in 2013. The inaugural release exceeded all expectations and blazed the trail for a premium range of bespoke, handcrafted wines, a superior expression of the region, the vineyard and quality of fruit. Twenty three rows of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot were added as part of an ambitious plan to produce a sophisticated Bordeaux blend. Warramunda Estate wines reflect a sensational terroir, a distinct place in which they are grown, the tireless work in the vineyard is vital. Covering some fifty five acres, the work focuses on providing the vines with the optimum ability to produce impressive fruit every vintage, regardless of the weather and the conditions.

The position and attributes of the vineyard are close to perfect for the varieties that Warramunda grow, vines are north facing on a downward slope, providing essential drainage down to the flats of Yarra River. The property is just a short distance from Warramate Hills, nestled amongst a neighbourhood of distinguished vineyards, Oakridge and Yeringberg, Yarra Yering and Coldstream Hills.

Much of the estate straddles bedrock composed of sedimentary sandstone and a series of sub and topsoils. The soil is relatively acidic but quite porous providing favourable drainage. Northerly aspects ensure the vines receive maximum sunshine exposure which is essential for balanced grape development and vine growth.

Warramunda Estate’s wines appeal equally to the learned connoisseur and those new to wine. The wines are bursting with personality and drinkability yet will cellar well should you prefer a more mature wine. Warramunda Estate wine is made from fruit grown exclusively on the home estate and only the best barrels will be bottled for each variety. This means the quantities can vary each year depending on the vintage and natural expression of the fruit. The philosophy is to work on intuition and connection to place, honed through experience and tempered with the assurance of skilled winemaking science. The vineyard team spend a considerable amount of time attending to every vine in each vineyard block, to ensure plantings are healthy and yield a bounty of the finest harvests. It's all designed to bring a range of delicious, perfectly balanced wines to all those who appreciate the endowments of nature and the fruits of the land.
