An exciting innovation in a Methode traditionnelle, enriched by strawberry. A component of Pinot Noir is treated to extended time on skins for perfect uptake of charming rose colour, to be blended back with Chardonnay after primary ferments. Lindauer»
There are two superb high altitude sites in Carey Gully and Piccadilly Valley, which yield an extraordinary quality of Sauvignon Blanc. Knappstein take the top cut of each harvest, crushing the fruit for a long cool vinification, treating a batch to the added richness of oak barrel ferments for texture, complexity and weight. Riposte»
Zilzie know from good Shiraz, they have grown the finest fruit for decades and now retain access to the most splendid vineyards. The quality of their winemaking has claimed thirty trophies since they embarked on their own label. Zilzie»
Considered an undistinguished vintage, it won a trophy, five Gold, four Silver and six Bronze medals between 1974 and 1982.. . Penfolds»
Bedecked with gold medals, significant trophies and countless five star commendations. Clonakilla is a wine that's ultimately determined in the vineyard, where hard work is required to open up the vine leaf canopies, limiting yields and encouraging vines to make grapes with riper flavour profiles. Clonakilla»
Metala was the first ever to win Jimmy Watson Trophy, a significant accolade in the world of wine. Fruit for the White Label is sourced from splendid Langhorne Creek vines which can trace a heritage back to the original plantings of 1891. Metala»
Originally released in 1976, the Koonunga Hill range has established a sound reputation for quality and consistency, while availing red wine enthusiasts of the opportunity to approach the enduring Penfolds style. The inaugural 1976 vintage of Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet was a legendary wine, still drinking well at Penfolds red wine recorking clinics. Penfolds»
Earnscleugh Valley was the site of a gold rush in the 1860s, the industrious miners dug a watercourse through the valley which today serves to nourish the world's southernmost appellation of Pinot Noir. The Last Chance is a small scenic terrace, planted to a special Burgundy clone of Pinot Noir which yields a magnificently structured, generously proportioned wine. Two Paddocks»
Yealands Seaview Vineyard is exposed to some of the toughest growing conditions in Marlborough, high sunshine and billowing winds wind, cool nights and low rainfalls for a smaller, thicker skinned Pinot Gris of exciting intensity. Fruit from the relatively flat, coastal L6M block, provides a pure mineral elegance to the structural backbone. Yealands Estate»
Scotsdale was acquired by Howard Park as a pastoral property, specifically chosen and planted to make a single vineyard wine. Shiraz is harvested according to flavour with little regard for analytical data. Howard Park»
Since inaugural release, Howard Park Chardonnay has wowed wine judges and reviewers internationally. It was awarded Best White Trophy at the Tri-National Wine Challenge, Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and Blue Gold at the Sydney International, two years in a row. Howard Park»
A vineyard of some historical import, Bernoota is the original block, planted to the Follett family homestead along the banks of River Bremer, two decades before federation. A splendid construct of Langhorne Creek Shiraz Cabernet, selected from old vines around the distinguished Follett family vineyard, perennially released to resounding accolades. Lake Breeze»

Brian Croser, chief winemaker of Petaluma has been closely involved in the administration and evolution of the modern Australian wine industry.

Established by Brian Croser in 1976, Petaluma is one of Australia's most prominent wine companies. Brian was the head winemaker for Thomas Hardy & Sons before establishing the Riverina College of Advanced Education course of Wine Science and Viticulture in 1976. While at the Riverina College he worked as a consultant to leading wineries and also established the Petaluma wine business in 1976.

Brian was conferred with an honorary Doctor of Science award from Charles Sturt University in 1998, and is is past Chairman of Judges at Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra Wine Shows.

In June 2000 in the Queens' Birthday Honours list, Brian Croser was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for service to the Australian wine industry, particularly through the provision of leadership to industry organizations, support of education and research in winemaking and representation of industry interests to government. In 2004 Brian was awarded the prestigious Decanter man of the Year 2004.

Brian has completed fifty vintages spanning the southern and northern hemispheres and thirty-two years in the wine industry. He is driven by quality and continues to set standards of excellence.

In choosing the Piccadilly Valley to grow Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, winemaker Brian Croser recognised the requirement of a cool environment to achieve the acid and finesse of flavour which are the hallmarks of superior sparkling wines fruit. The vineyards were the first planted in the Piccadilly valley. These cooler vineyard sites produce moderate sugar, high acid Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the substance of Croser.

Hand picked Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are chilled and pressed as whole bunches. Only the heart run juice is collected for Croser and no additives are used in the winemaking process. Croser matures on yeast lees before remuage and disgorging.

Croser is only disgorged when there is market demand which ensures extended contact with the yeasts that preserves the wines freshness and contributes a wonderful yeastiness. The pristine flavours, defining acidity and elegant fruit structure set Croser apart as one of Australia's few aperitif style sparkling wines.

The Piccadilly Valley at the centre of the Adelaide Hills, is the home of Petaluma and Croser

In 1984, Petaluma purchased the dilapidated Bridgewater Mill and with the assistance of then shareholder Soci?t? Jacques Bollinger, renovated the mill which is now the sparkling cellars for Croser.

The Piccadilly Valley is the highest rainfall at 45 inches per annum(1143mm) and coolest viticultural region in South Australia. The heat summation of the Piccadilly Valley is a mere 2117?F (1176?C) days. Petaluma pioneered viticulture in the Piccadilly Valley and indeed the Adelaide Hills in 1978.

The soils of the north-east facing slopes of Petaluma's distinguished vineyards in the Piccadilly Valley are free draining red brown earths. The geology of the valley is complex and most of the distinguished site vineyards are over the 850 million year old Woolshed Flat Shale, except for Tiers, which is over a 1,800 million year old seam of Calcsilicate.
