Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon by Penfolds of Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Magill. Darker elements at the core, soy/ cola/ peat/ coal dust. The late great Max Schubert embarked on an adventure to formulate the first growth of Australian wine in the 1940s. An assemblage of fruit from superior vineyards in the Barossa and McLaren Vale, with a precious component picked off the distinguished old vines on the ancient Magill Estate. Tannins are neither obstructive nor aggressive, yet effortlessly convey the flavours.
