Bloodstone was originally intended for the UK Oddbins retail chain. It turned into a runaway success and went on to claim a litany of international accolades, 5 Cuisine Magazine Stars & Best Buy, as well as Gold & Double Gold at the prestigious San Francisco International. Gemtree»
The uncompromising pursuit of excellence brings the Yealands team to the extreme viticultural climes of Gibbston Valley in Central Otago. It is here under the frigid cloudless night skies that Pinot Noir vines, planted to undulating granite schist soils, struggle to yield harvests of parched grapes, redolent with cherry berry perfumes, bursting with an intensity of flavour and wrapped in a muslin of seamless, velvet tannins. Yealands Estate»
It was the great Cabernet wines of Bordeaux which inspired Bill Taylor to diversify from imports and retail into the highly fraught pursuit of grape growing. An ardent enthusiast of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Taylor had a keen enough palate and nose to determine that the most auspicious lands for Cabernet Sauvignon were amongst the idyllic rolling pastorals of Valley Clare. Taylors»
Paringa is one of Victoria's leading estates, having claimed Royal Melbourne Most Successful Winery Trophy and earning impressive international acclaim for it's founder, the eminent Lindsay McCall. His style is defined by his passion for viticulture and devotion to the art of making nothing but the finest wines. Paringa Estate»
Scotsdale was acquired by Howard Park as a pastoral property, specifically chosen and planted to make a single vineyard wine. Shiraz is harvested according to flavour with little regard for analytical data. Howard Park»
Clare Valley Shiraz is internationally renowned, remarkable for its spectacular complexity, elegance and poise. Bill Taylor planted Shiraz with a view to formulating the very style which has won primacy throughout the world of wine. Taylors»
Whole bunches and oak barrel ferments, the costly extravagance of three years tirage on sedimentery yeast lees, each bottle individually riddled by hand, disgorged and sent to cellar for the ultimate indulgence of extra age before release, Pamela is the zenith of the sparkling winemaker's art. Her luxurious effervescence exudes brioche, tarte tatin and French boulangere, her creamy textural mousse unravelling ribbons of rich yeasty autolysis, crème caramel and baked fruits. Wicks»
The seemingly countless, memorable vintages of Delatite have claimed a litany of trophies, accolades and rave reviews throughout the world of wine. Her first vines were planted in 1968 on a picturesque rise overlooking the vistas of Mt Buller. Delatite»
Galli Estate produce a variety of quality wines from fruit grown on their vineyards at Sunbury and Heathcote. Galli Estate have been very well received by reviewers, and have been recognised for quality at competitions, already receiving Gold for their Pinot Grigio, a varietal that the winemaking team find very exciting. Glenrowan is a place of great natural endowments, it grows the finest fruit and hosted a famous gold rush. Glenrowan has remained quarantined from any exchange of viticulture since the 1890s, a felicitious quirk of history which has preserved the provenance of some great old vineyards. Baileys Glenrowan»
What fine Riesling Clare Valley does make, internationally recognized for wines of immaculate fruit character and delicate pastoral charm. Rousanne Marsanne Viognier by TarraWarra of Yarra Valley. The Valleys Yarra and Cotes du Rhone share a kinship in the realization of fleshy and invigorationg white wines styles. From the outset the vision has been to produce wines of great quality and integrity amidst a location of beauty and welcome

TarraWarra Estate is a 400 hectare property on a prime site at the warm eastern end of the Yarra Valley in southern Victoria. The vineyard is planted on a north facing slope at approximately 100 metres elevation, and comprises 12 hectares of Chardonnay and 17 hectares of Pinot Noir, most of which was planted in 1983.

With twenty years of history and heritage, TarraWarra Estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay represent the vision of Marc and Eva Besen to produce premium wine crafted to bring out the particular aspects of each vintage while consistently concentrating on balancing structure and elegance.

Since the first vintage more than 20 years ago, Tarrawarra have established themselves as one of Australia's great wine estates. TarraWarra Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have consistently received widespread acclaim and many prestigious Australian and international awards. TarraWarra Estate is a must-see destination where visitors are invited to reward their senses with the inspired combination of fine wines, delicious food and wonderful Australian art in a magnificent setting. These wines are of great character and depth, reflecting the outstanding quality of the 100% estate grown fruit from the unique microclimate of the site chosen specifically for these varieties.

TarraWarra have carved out a reputation as one of the Yarra's leading lights with an intensity and concentration rarely seen in that region. "In the hands of winemaker Clare Halloran, the style of TarraWarra wines has become more elegant and refined" -Peter Bourne, Gourmet Traveller

There are 23 different blocks at TarraWarra Estate, with most of these being less than one hectare, the majority of the Chardonnay was planted in 1983 and while the majority of the Pinot Noir was planted in 1984, additional plantings were made up until 1995. The majority of the vineyard is planted at a density of 2,200 vines per hectare with a very small area planted more densely at 3,000 vines per hectare. In recent years, older blocks of Chardonnay have been grafted over to Mendoza clone to add another dimension to the structure of the TarraWarra Estate Chardonnay.

The soil comprises a fairly thin layer of grey loam over clay. This soil composition leads to reduced vigour in the vines and the clay aids consistency by retaining water. As the majority of the vines are at least 20 years old, the fruit is consistently more concentrated and of a good acid balance with less fruit produced than from more vigorous younger vines. This significant vine age contributes noticeably to wines giving them more structure and greater balance.

While some blocks were planted trialling different trellising systems, the Estate is moving to all VSP trellis. This system has proved advantageous in not only growing the cordon relatively low to the earth to make the most of available radiant heat, but also in providing a significantly greater leaf canopy, important to shade fruit from sunburn and to improve ripening with increased leaf area/energy.
