Woodhenge is about big ideas, in the manner of cyclopean fences built by Australia's early settlers. A wine of great elemental sculpture, the assemblage of individual vineyard and sub-regional characteristics is the key to success of the style. Wirra Wirra»
The historic goldfields at Beechworth are now delivering a different type of gold, in the form of suave white wines with panache and style. Pinot Gris has taken well to the cooler climes and mineral rich soils atop the steeply sloped aspects. Brokenwood»
One of the earliest commercial winemaking operations ever established in Victoria. Heathcote Winery can also boast some of the oldest Australian plantings of Viognier. Heathcote Winery»
David O'Leary and Nick Walker have amassed hundreds of gold medals and trophies between them, including the prestigious Jimmy Watson. A shared confidence in the quality of Clare Valley fruit was the catalyst for them to establish their own winery. OLeary Walker»
Take a lesson from the well versed Rosé rectors on the Cotes du Rhône and you'll be adding a measure of the arcadian Cinsault grape into your Grenache ferments, conceiving an animate and engaging ochre pink wine. There's a real affinity between the balmy maritime climes of McLaren Vale and the swarthy, effusive varietals that hail from the French south. Bondar»
By the winner of the 2014 Jimmy Watson Trophy! During his time as chief red wine maker at Hardy's, Stephen Pannell became intmate with many of the greater Adelaide region's most splendid sites. A predominantly Syrah wine with a de rigueur inclusion of good Viognier, all picked off a superior low yielding Adelaide Hills vineyard. SC Pannell»
Steeped in history, the original Baileys store was situated next door to the Glenrowan Inn where widow Jones hosted Ned Kelly's siege. Following the gold rush, the Baileys turned to farming and settled on a property which they named Bundarra. Baileys Glenrowan»
A wine of pure Barossa fruit by a master who loves Shiraz and is devoted to the valley he calls home. Grant Burge has been awarded every major trophy and medal in Australia, including the Montgomery, Stodart, Brisbane Club and Jimmy Watson. Grant Burge»
The uncompromising pursuit of excellence brings the Yealands team to the extreme viticultural climes of Gibbston Valley in Central Otago. It is here under the frigid cloudless night skies that Pinot Noir vines, planted to undulating granite schist soils, struggle to yield harvests of parched grapes, redolent with cherry berry perfumes, bursting with an intensity of flavour and wrapped in a muslin of seamless, velvet tannins. Yealands Estate»
Pete Yealands is a natural viticulturalist, happiest at work on the land, he has established many of Marlborough's most splendid vineyards. Single site Awatere Pinot Noir from an exposed terrace on the upper ridge of Seaview Vineyard, planted to some marvelous Dijon clones. Yealands Estate»
Leasingham have remained at the fore of Clare Valley viticulture, making great wine since 1895. They have since established an endowment of the region's most auspicious vineyards. Leasingham»
Whole bunches and oak barrel ferments, the costly extravagance of three years tirage on sedimentery yeast lees, each bottle individually riddled by hand, disgorged and sent to cellar for the ultimate indulgence of extra age before release, Pamela is the zenith of the sparkling winemaker's art. Her luxurious effervescence exudes brioche, tarte tatin and French boulangere, her creamy textural mousse unravelling ribbons of rich yeasty autolysis, crème caramel and baked fruits. Wicks»

Heathcote Estate

http://www.yabbylake.com/ - Heathcote Estate - Tasting Notes On Australian & New Zealand wines
Heathcote Estate was established exclusively for the production of one wine a single vineyard Shiraz

During the 1850s, Heathcote was the scene of fevered activity as an important gold field town and today Heathcote is best known for producing another rich and prized gem, Heathcote Shiraz. The rich red Cambrian soil and dry mild climate provide the idyllic foundation for producing world class Shiraz and are indeed the reason why Heathcote is considered one of Australia's pre-eminent regions for our most noted variety.

Inspired by the amazing depth and character of Heathcote Shiraz, the Bialkower and Kirby families selected a rare and ideal location to produce an ultra-premium Shiraz to rival Australia's finest. Heathcote Estate was established in 1999 as an ultra premium producer solely focused on the production of one wine, a single vineyard Shiraz.

The Bialkower and Kirby families shared vision of excellence is reflected by their single-minded focus towards quality across all parts of the winemaking process.

Having grown up in the fine wine and food environment that was Melbourne in the 1960s and 70s, Robert Kirby has long been fascinated by fine wine, especially the soft and medium-bodied French varieties Pinot Noir and Shiraz. His childhood was also spent on the Mornington Peninsula , where his family owned cinemas and it was only natural that his first vineyard should have been in that region at Red Hill. By 1992 he planted 6 hectares at Cooralook and since then has planted a much larger vineyard at Tuerong Road Mooruduc.

Louis Bialkower carried on a busy legal practice in Melbourne for many years, coming to wine on a professional basis in 1982 when he founded Yarra Ridge in the Yarra Valley and though that estate was sold to Beringer Blass in the 1990s, he has been continuously involved with wine since that time.
