Glenrowan is a place of great natural endowments, it grows the finest fruit and hosted a famous gold rush. Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon by Penfolds of Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale. The fruit gains in the glass with aeration, when more subtle perfume and chestnut complexities emerge. A big, typical Grange and a very good wine from this vintage. The 1997 vintage is predominantly Shiraz (96%) with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon (4%) from the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. The palate has wonderful length, with a tightly structured, tannic finish indicative of the calibre of this fine wine.
