Daniel James Wilson would write DJW rules on school book covers, desks, garden edgings and wet concrete whenever the opportunity arose. In 1997 DJW established a small 5½ acre plot of Riesling in the highest and most fertile corner of the family property. Wilson Vineyard»
Whole bunches and oak barrel ferments, the costly extravagance of three years tirage on sedimentery yeast lees, each bottle individually riddled by hand, disgorged and sent to cellar for the ultimate indulgence of extra age before release, Pamela is the zenith of the sparkling winemaker's art. Her luxurious effervescence exudes brioche, tarte tatin and French boulangere, her creamy textural mousse unravelling ribbons of rich yeasty autolysis, crème caramel and baked fruits. Wicks»
Glenrowan is a place of great natural endowments, it grows the finest fruit and hosted a famous gold rush. Glenrowan has remained quarantined from any exchange of viticulture since the 1890s, a felicitious quirk of history which has preserved the provenance of some great old vineyards. Baileys Glenrowan»
A single vineyard, strongly terroir wine by maestro Ken Helm AM, from fruit picked off neighbour Al Lustenberger's property, only released under the premium black label if it reaches the highest quality benchmarks. The inaugural 1976 vintage of Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet was a legendary wine, still drinking well at Penfolds red wine recorking clinics. Penfolds»

By Barbadillo of Jerez. A drying palate of leesyness and tangelo, grasses, yeast, sunflower and Pompelmo before a long, clean finish of sweet bread characters, nougat and torte. Barbadillo is one of the largest and most venerated producers of fortified wine in the whole of the Jerez region. The Barbadillo vineyards of Gibalbín and Santa Lucía extend over gentle, rolling hills within the famous Jerez triangle and are qualified as Superior due to the quality of fruit produced. Its headquarters are housed in a striking building known as the Casa Palacio de la Cilla, which dates back to 1773.
