Richard Bailey planted one of the first Glenrowan vineyards in the 1860s. The Bailey estate survived the downturn of the Victorian gold rush, the ravages of phylloxera and excesses of the Kelly gang, it endures to this day, producing some of the nation's most intensely flavoured and historically significant wine. Baileys Glenrowan»

Scotsdale was acquired by Howard Park as a pastoral property, specifically chosen and planted to make a single vineyard wine. Shiraz is harvested according to flavour with little regard for analytical data. Howard Park»
Given the scarcity of Best's prestige, limited release, old vineyard icons, Bin #1 affords enthusiasts their first taste of the Great Western Shiraz style and leaves them eager to discover more. A classic, cool climate, aromatic wine, floral and spicy, peppery and elegant, retaining vital Great Western fruit character. Bests»
The marvelous S1 block is a sheltered, relatively warm site within the splendid vistas of Seaview Vineyard, on a north facing plateau at 160m above sea level, refreshed by maritime winds that blow in from the Cludy Bay coast. Fruit is crushed and destemmed, chilled and gently pressed, the clearest juices are racked off for a long, cool ferment to capture the full opulence of S1 vineyard grapes on the vine. Sourced from Neil Steven's Glenoak property at Pokolbin, a scenically undulating site that's planted to a combination of light sand and red clay soils, widely regarded as one of the finest white wine vineyards in Hunter Valley. The historic goldfields at Beechworth are now delivering a different type of gold, in the form of suave white wines with panache and style. Pinot Gris has taken well to the cooler climes and mineral rich soils atop the steeply sloped aspects. Brokenwood»

Yarra Ridge

Since its inception in 1988, Yarra Ridge has become one of the most successful vineyards in the Yarra Valley

Yarra Ridge was the brainchild of a lawyer, Louis Bialkower, who bought the land in 1982. The following year, Louis planted five hectares to Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The reputation of Yarra Ridge grew, and from 1989 to 1995 every vintage of Yarra Ridge Chardonnay that was shown at wine competitions claimed a trophy.

The 1992 Chardonnay was judged Best Premium Chardonnay at Australia’s National Wine Show in Canberra. In the following year the 1993 Yarra Ridge Chardonnay won Best Current Vintage Dry White at the same show. Since Beringer Blass entered the scene, in 1993, the Yarra Ridge winery and vineyards have expanded and improved at a dynamic rate. The original five-hectare planting has become 60 hectares, but the philosophy has remained the same. At Yarra Ridge, the wine is made in the vineyard.

Many viticultural innovations have been introduced, among them are trellising systems such as the Geneva Double Curtain, Scott Henry and Lyre. The results of these viticultural innovations are extremely encouraging. Fruit ripeness has improved and the incidence of disease has been considerably reduced.

The cellar door team at St Hubert’s are excited about the addition of the Yarra Ridge wines to their range. Yarra Ridge Sauvignon Blanc and the Shiraz have been particularly popular with their fruit driven, drink now style. These easy drinking table wines represent an excellent choice of for those who appreciate today's busy but relaxed pace of living.
