Tio Pepe is the world's leading Fino, a very pale and dry style of wine made in the southwest of Spain. Produced since 1844 by the Gonzalez family of Jerez, Tio Pepe has a distinctive aroma and a unique taste. Tio Pepe»
The marvelous S1 block is a sheltered, relatively warm site within the splendid vistas of Seaview Vineyard, on a north facing plateau at 160m above sea level, refreshed by maritime winds that blow in from the Cludy Bay coast. Fruit is crushed and destemmed, chilled and gently pressed, the clearest juices are racked off for a long, cool ferment to capture the full opulence of S1 vineyard grapes on the vine. Yealands Estate»
Enthused by a consuming desire to make great wine, Andrew Nugent honed his craft as viticulturalist and winemaker amongst the vines of McLaren Vale before returning to the Adelaide Hills, where he established his very own wineworks at Woodside. Hand crafted from fruit grown to mineral rich soils above the historic Bird in Hand gold mine, a pure Pinot Noir with superb effervescence, dominated by red berry characters, adorned by a lift of stonefruits and floral.. Bird In Hand»
Valley Clare yields a distinct style of Cabernet Sauvignon, characterized by sweet dark berry flavours, regional mintyness and rolling velvet tannins. Reilly's know Clare Valley very well, highly selective in their choice of terroir, they have set aside harvests from their most precious blocks, hand picked grapes off dry grown vines, open fermented and basket pressed, matured twenty two months in the best French oak. Reillys»
In exceptional years, parcels of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot are separately fermented. The best lots are assembled into a multiple trophy winer named Harry's Monster and treated to an extravagant maturation in the finest oak. Giant Steps»
Bleasdale are Australia's second oldest family owned winery, established 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts. Potts built much of Adelaide's early colonial works before settling down to his homestead at Langhorne Creek. Bleasdale»
Leasingham have remained at the fore of Clare Valley viticulture, making great wine since 1895. They have since established an endowment of the region's most auspicious vineyards. Leasingham»
The wines of Shadowfax have gone from strength to strength in a very short space of time, due in no small part to the remarkable quality of fruit. A prolific trophy winner, Shadowfax have achieved the new wave of Chardonnay, refreshingly fruit driven, livelier than it's Victorian siblings, characterised by slatey, flavoursome acidity, a touch of lees complexity and judicious dryness. Shadowfax»
Outstanding Langtons Classification. The locals around the Lovedale property say that the sandy soils are so poor, that even the rabbits have to bring a tucker box just to survive! The lean and mean terroir is elemental to the long lived, fine boned style. Mount Pleasant»
Real new world Syrah, crafted to the old world style of French Trapis pioneers who founded Mission Estate in 1851. Fruit is sourced from the Bridge Pa triangle and warm inland sites, fortuitously sheltered from the prevailing sea breezes, perfect for the Syrah to ripen superbly, infusing fine aromatics and building ripe, supple tannins. Mission Estate»
A parcel of the most pristine Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon tips the scales of this ambitious but remarkably integrated cépage, a generous inclusion of Cabernet Franc contributes savouryness and luscious berry fruit, Merlot, Malbec and Shiraz add complexity and flesh to achieve a well rounded, profoundly enjoyable red wine. Reuben represents a germane accord to a diversity of cuisines, the evocative mix of grapes serve to ingratiate each other as they coalesce into an engaging fusion of exuberance and style.. Paracombe»
Adelaide Hills make world class Merlot, genteel, velvety wines, solidly structured, brimming with intense lozenge flavours and resonant with exemplary varietal character. Bird in the Hand are without compromise, the most exacting standards of winemaking. Bird In Hand»

Tar Roses

http://www.tarandroses.com.au/ - Tar Roses - Tasting Notes On Australian & New Zealand wines
Don Lewis joined Colin Preece for Mitchelton's first vintage in 1973, and assumed the winemaker's mantle in 1974 when Preece retired

After thirty years of leadership at Mitchelton and auspicious winemaking in the Spanish region of Priorat, 150 kilometres south-west of Barcelona, Don Lewis made the decision to pursue the Tar & Roses label, a collaboration with protegee Narelle King. Lewis adores the tannins, structure and distinct expressiveness of Spanish wines. Grapes are from vines grown to elite Heathcote vineyards, much of which must be hand picked, all components are treated separately during their fermentation and maturation. The larger volume of shiraz comes from richer Cambrian soils, while the smaller parcel is grown to much tougher grantic soils.
